 History of cricket



       The sport of cricket has a known history beginning in the late 16th century. Having originated in south-east England, it became the country's national sport in the 18th century and has developed globally in the 19th and 20th centuries. International matches have been played since 1844 and Test cricket began, retrospectively recognised, in 1877. Cricket is the world's second most popular spectator sport after association football (soccer). Governance is by the International Cricket Council (ICC) which has over one hundred countries and territories in membership although only twelve currently play Test cricket.

☸️  Sri Maha Bodhi☸️      Sri Maha Bodhi is a sacred acacia tree located in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. It is a southern sapling of the historic Bodhi tree that the Buddha left behind in attaining Enlightenment. This was planted in 288 BC. It is the oldest known tree in the world to have been planted by human hands and to have survived. This Sri Maha Bodhi is a southern branch of the Maha Bodhi in Buddhagaya, India, which was released when the Buddha attained Enlightenment. BC In the 3rd century, this tree was brought to the port now known as Sangamitta Ferry at Madagal in Yapa Patune, Lakdiva by Miss Sangamitta, the daughter of Emperor Ashoka. She was a pioneer in establishing the Sri Lanka Bhikkhuni Sasana. 249 BC King Devanampiyatissa planted this Jaya Siri Maha Bodhi in the Maha Mevna Uyana in Anuradhapura.
